Building Local Business

Muskingum County - Building Local Business through Networking

Building Local Business
Let's Build it Together

In today’s economy, it’s essential for local businesses to build strong relationships with other businesses. Whether it’s through partnerships, collaborations, or networking, working with other businesses can help you grow your customer base, increase revenue, and improve your reputation in the community.

One of the most effective ways to build relationships with other businesses is through partnerships. By partnering with another business, you can share resources, knowledge, and expertise. For example, if you’re a local bakery, you might partner with a nearby coffee shop to offer a special promotion that includes a free coffee with every pastry purchase. This type of partnership not only benefits both businesses but also creates a unique experience for customers.

Another way to build relationships with other businesses is through collaborations. Collaborations are particularly effective when two businesses have complementary products or services. For example, if you own a fitness studio, you might collaborate with a local nutritionist to offer a package deal that includes a fitness class and a personalized nutrition plan. This type of collaboration not only adds value for customers but also allows both businesses to reach a wider audience.

Networking is also an important aspect of building relationships with other businesses. Attending local business events and connecting with other business owners can help you build your network, learn about other businesses, and create opportunities for collaboration. Joining local business organizations or chambers of commerce can also be an effective way to network and build relationships with other businesses in your community.

In addition to these strategies, it’s important to be proactive in building relationships with other businesses. Reach out to other business owners and offer to collaborate on a project or host a joint event. Offer your expertise or resources to other businesses, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. By building these types of relationships, you can create a strong network of businesses that support each other and work together to grow the local economy.

In conclusion, building relationships with other businesses is crucial for local business success. Partnerships, collaborations, and networking are all effective strategies for building these relationships and can help you increase revenue, grow your customer base, and improve your reputation in the community. By being proactive and investing in these relationships, you can create a thriving local business ecosystem that benefits everyone.

Lost Lands Music Festival

Fri, Sep 22, 1:00 PM – Mon, Sep 25, 2:44 AM
Legend Valley
7585 Kindle Rd, Thornville, OH

Lost Lands is an annual music festival in Licking County, Ohio. The festival is known for its heavy bass music, immersive dinosaur-themed production, and vibrant festival-goer community. Each year, thousands of people worldwide gather to experience the unique atmosphere and high-energy performances of Lost Lands.

The festival was founded in 2017 by Jeff Abel, also known as Excision, one of the leading figures in the bass music scene. Lost Lands was designed to celebrate the music and culture surrounding bass music, focusing on dubstep’s deep, heavy sounds and other bass-heavy genres.

One of the defining features of Lost Lands is its dinosaur-themed production. The festival takes place on a 1,000-acre nature preserve, transforming into a prehistoric wonderland for the weekend. Giant animatronic dinosaurs roam the festival grounds, and the stages are designed to look like ancient temples and ruins. The overall effect is being transported back to a lost world of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures.

But it’s the music that is the real focus of Lost Lands. The festival features three main stages, each dedicated to a different style of bass music. The Prehistoric Paradox stage is where you’ll find the heaviest dubstep and other bass-heavy genres, while the Cave of Souls stage features more experimental and avant-garde acts. Finally, the Wompy Woods stage is a more laid-back area that offers a variety of genres, including house, techno, and trap.

Lost Lands’s community is one thing that sets it apart from other music festivals. The festival-goers, known as Headbangers, are a passionate and welcoming group united by their love of bass music. They come from all over the world to connect, dance to their favorite artists, and share in the unique experience of Lost Lands.

In addition to the music, Lost Lands also offers a variety of other activities and attractions. The festival features a vendor village where you can find everything from food and drinks to clothing and art. There are workshops and panels where you can learn everything from sound design to environmental sustainability.

Overall, Lost Lands is a unique event that offers a unique experience for bass music fans and festival-goers. With its immersive production, diverse lineup, and vibrant community, Lost Lands celebrates the power of music to bring people together and create unforgettable memories and is only a thirty-minute interstate drive from Baker’s Motel.  Our historic motel is located off I-70 E at Exit 164. Turn left, and Baker’s Motel is situated on the left approximately 1/4 mile from I-70.

The Historic National Road Yard Sale

A Journey Through Time and Treasures

From May 31st to June 4th, 2023, the Historic National Road Yard Sale will again occur along the 824-mile stretch of the historic highway from Maryland to Illinois. This annual event attracts thousands of vendors and shoppers alike, all looking to discover hidden treasures and experience a journey through time.

The Historic National Road, also known as Route 40, was the first federally funded highway in the United States. It was established in 1806 and was a significant artery for westward expansion and trade, connecting the East Coast to the Midwest. Today, it is a designated National Scenic Byway, and the yard sale is a celebration of its rich history and culture.

Historic National Road Yard Sale / Event

A yard sale is a unique event that offers something for everyone. Vendors from all over the country come to sell their wares, including antiques, collectibles, handmade crafts, and vintage clothing. Shoppers can also find various food vendors selling delicious treats, such as funnel cakes and homemade pies, along their journey.

But the Historic National Road Yard Sale is more than just a shopping event; it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in history and explore the small towns and communities that dot the route. Many of these towns have deep historical roots and offer unique attractions such as museums, historic sites, and quaint shops.

One such town is Wheeling, West Virginia, located on the eastern end of the National Road. This charming town was a hub for transportation and trade during the 19th century and is home to several historic sites, including the Victorian-era Centre Market and the Eckhart House, a restored mansion that serves as a museum.

Further along the route, you will find the town of Zanesville, Ohio. This town played a significant role in the transportation industry, and the National Road passes through its downtown area. Today, Zanesville is home to several historic sites, including the famous Y-Bridge, which is the only bridge in the world that spans the confluence of two rivers at three different points.

As you travel westward on the National Road, you will encounter several other towns and attractions, including the beautiful Laurel Highlands in Pennsylvania and the unique brick-paved streets of Vandalia, Illinois. Each town along the route has its own distinct character and offers a glimpse into the past.

If you plan on attending the Historic National Road Yard Sale, bring plenty of cash and wear comfortable shoes. You never know what treasures you might find along the route, and the journey is an experience you will never forget.

In conclusion, the Historic National Road Yard Sale is a must-attend event for anyone interested in history, culture, and adventure.
